Website use
Website Terms
Effective August 13, 2026
These terms govern use of jacobedtherapy.com. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information, not individualized advice
The site provides general information about educational therapy and the services offered by Jacob Educational Therapy. It is not medical, psychological, legal, special-education, or other individualized professional advice. Information on the site should not replace guidance from a qualified professional who understands a learner's circumstances.
Inquiries and service relationships
Submitting an inquiry does not create a therapist-client, educator-student, consultant, fiduciary, confidential, or other professional relationship. A service relationship begins only after the parties agree to separate terms, scope, scheduling, and fees.
Availability statements, including waitlist timing, are informational and may change. We may decline an inquiry or determine that another provider is a better fit. Do not send sensitive educational, medical, legal, or financial records through the website form.
No emergency services
The website and inquiry email are not monitored continuously and are not emergency services. Do not use them for an urgent health, safety, abuse, or crisis concern. Contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified local professional when immediate help is needed.
Permitted use
You may use the site for lawful, personal, and informational purposes. You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, accounts, systems, or service providers.
- Use automated tools to scrape, overload, disrupt, probe, or submit spam through the site.
- Transmit malware, unlawful material, credentials, or information you are not authorized to share.
- Copy, republish, sell, or misrepresent the site's content, design, branding, or materials except as allowed by law.
Intellectual property
The site's original text, design, logos, photographs, graphics, and other materials belong to Jacob Educational Therapy or are used with permission. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights. Names and marks belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
Testimonials and outcomes
Testimonials describe individual experiences and are not promises or guarantees. Every learner, family, school context, and engagement is different. Educational and related outcomes depend on many factors outside the site's or practice's control.
Third-party services and links
The site uses third-party hosting, form processing, and email services, and may link to websites we do not control. Their availability, content, security, and privacy practices are governed by their own terms. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement.
Site availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the site accurate, secure, and available, but it is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties concerning the site, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that every statement is current, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that an inquiry will be delivered without delay.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Jacob Educational Therapy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute concerning the website will be handled in a court with jurisdiction in Alameda County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Questions may be sent to assistant@jacobedtherapy.com or mailed to Jacob Educational Therapy, 1760 Solano Avenue, Suite 300, Berkeley, California 94707.
