Privacy Policy
Effective August 13, 2026
Jacob Educational Therapy respects the privacy of families. This policy explains what the website collects, why we collect it, who handles it, and the choices available to you.
Who operates this site
Jacob Educational Therapy operates jacobedtherapy.com from 1760 Solano Avenue, Suite 300, Berkeley, California 94707. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to assistant@jacobedtherapy.com.
Information we collect
Information you choose to send
The inquiry form asks for an adult's name and email address. A phone number, the learner's grade or age, referral source, and additional message are optional except for the message needed to understand the request. The form also records the time you acknowledged this policy.
Please do not use the form to send a child's name, school name, diagnosis, IEP or assessment records, medical information, account credentials, or other sensitive documents. We will arrange an appropriate method if records are needed after a professional relationship is established.
Basic technical information
Vercel, which hosts the site, and Web3Forms, which processes the inquiry form, automatically receive limited technical information needed to serve the site, secure the form, and prevent abuse. This can include an IP address, browser or device information, requested page, referring page, submission time, response status, and spam signals.
Information we do not collect on this site
The site has no user accounts, payment form, advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, marketing cookies, chat widget, embedded map, or social-media tracking code. It does not use browser storage to build profiles or track visitors across sites.
How we use information
- To review, answer, and follow up on an inquiry.
- To determine whether our services and current availability may fit a family's needs.
- To schedule a conversation or take steps requested before services begin.
- To maintain appropriate business records.
- To secure the site, prevent spam, investigate misuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not use inquiry information for an automated marketing list. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising.
Who handles information
We disclose information only as needed for the purposes above:
- Web3Forms receives and stores the form fields, screens the submission for abuse, and forwards it to our team. Its infrastructure providers include Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare, and Hetzner. It may send the submitter's IP address and email address to CleanTalk and Akismet for spam screening. See Web3Forms' privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts the website and processes ordinary security and request logs. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Our email service provider stores and delivers the resulting inquiry email. See Google's privacy policy.
- Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts, or law enforcement may receive information when reasonably necessary to protect rights, comply with law, or address a legal claim.
We do not allow these service providers to use inquiry information for our advertising.
Retention
Inquiries that do not become an active service relationship are ordinarily deleted from our email and business records within 24 months. We may retain a record longer when reasonably needed for an active waitlist, a requested follow-up, dispute resolution, security, insurance, accounting, or legal obligations. Records created after services begin may follow a separate professional retention schedule.
Web3Forms states that form submission data may be retained for up to three years, or for a shorter period based on the plan or earlier deletion. Server logs are deleted on its schedule. Vercel and our email provider retain technical and account data according to their policies.
Children's privacy
Our services support children, but this website and its inquiry form are intended for parents, guardians, and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. A child should not submit the form. If you believe a child submitted information directly, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
An adult may provide limited information about a learner to request services. We deliberately avoid asking for a child's name, school, records, diagnosis, or medical details at this stage.
Security
We use HTTPS, restrictive browser security headers, limited third-party connections, form abuse controls, and access-controlled service accounts. The form sends information directly to the processing provider and does not save a copy in this site's code or browser storage.
No website, email service, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use the inquiry form only for an initial request and do not send sensitive records through it.
Processing locations
Jacob Educational Therapy operates in California. Our service providers may process information in the United States, India, the European Union, and other locations where they or their subprocessors operate. Privacy protections in those locations may differ from those in your home jurisdiction.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information connected to your inquiry by emailing assistant@jacobedtherapy.com. We may need to verify your identity and may keep information when permitted or required by law.
Because the site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising and does not track visitors across third-party sites, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change the site's behavior. We will not discriminate against anyone for making a privacy request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects information already collected, we will provide additional notice when reasonably required.
