Hi, I'm Kira, founder of Jacob Educational Therapy. For more than fourteen years I have worked alongside students, families, and schools to make learning feel possible again.

My path has taken me through nearly every kind of educational setting there is: general and special education classrooms, public, non-public, and private schools, and one-on-one support inside families' homes. That range taught me something simple but important. There is no single way a child learns, and there is no single way to help them. Every learner arrives with their own profile, their own history, and their own reasons for feeling stuck.

I specialize in supporting students who need more than a worksheet and a quiet room. That includes kids with autism (including PDA profiles), specific learning disabilities, social-emotional and behavioral needs, and other health impairments. Much of my work involves designing positive behavior support systems that hold up across contexts, so the strategies that work in our office also work in the classroom and at the kitchen table.

Communication, collaboration, and relationships are the foundation of everything we do. I believe every learner deserves to feel empowered in their own education, not managed through it. In practice that means we start by building trust, then identify the real areas of need, put thoughtful interventions in place, and hand each student a toolkit they can carry with them long after our sessions end.

I built this practice so families would have a team behind them, not just a name on a calendar. We are proud members of the Association of Educational Therapists, and we treat families, their teachers, and their care teams as true partners. When everyone is rowing in the same direction, kids do remarkable things.
